I've had this fun, festive snacks & sweets shop bookmarked for years and I'm so glad we finally went. Whether you want spicy, crunchy snacks like tostilocos, elote en vaso, or duro preparado... or fresh fruits with delicious toppings like mangonadas and fresas con crema ...or a wide variety of tasty ice cream flavors either scooped, as a sundae, on a waffle, in a concha, as a malt, and so much more - there's something for everyone. Some packaged items as well, like salty nuts, sour spiced gummy candies, chips, and others. There's almost always a line, but it moves fast. We wanted something sweet, so we opted for two paletas. Piñon for me and chongo zamorano for him. I had never had either flavor so I was excited and I loved them both. Creamy and not overly sweet, the piñon had pine nuts studded throughout, and the chongo zamorano was like a bit like a slightly burnt custard flavor that was delicious. We also took home some spiced gummy worms for later and those were excellent as well. Great place to take the kids. Parking lot is teeny tiny but you can find street parking nearby too. Can't wait to visit again!

I'm so happy I found this place, I've already gone twice this week and will definitely be coming back. Their mangonada and fresada are so refreshing and the perfect amount of tangy goodness. You can ask them to do half mangonada and half fresada if you're indecisive, and it's really the best of both worlds. The arroz con leche paleta is also amazing - it's so flavorful and creamy. The workers are super sweet, and were really patient with me when I first came, which I really appreciated. The Mexican candies in front of the store are also a huge plus. They have their own parking lot which is a lifesaver since street parking seems a little sparse nearby. I will be back to try all their other goodies - I currently have my eye on the Mexican candy apple!

(SJ)Food:One of the best collection of desserts in the bay. We got the Paletas. Arroz con leche (9.5/10) is a must especially for a first time buy. Flavor is perfectly sweet doesn't feel like I'm eating a bucket of sugar. Has raisins. Was hoping they added more cinnamon. 2nd was the pistachio (8.8/10). Also delicious. Wish it had more nuts Bionico (9.4/10) if you love fruits this is for you. So many different varieties that I can count like banana, papaya, strawberries, raisins, apple, granola, and condensed milk. Mangonada (9.5/10) with lime and tahin was just delicious. Quality of mango has that sweet/sour and perfect crunched. And tahin with lemon will wake you up if you drink it. Setting: it's fairly nice. The tables are not the cleanest which I can't complain because there's so many people Service: this is the 2nd time we have been here and both days are just packed which I think is a great sign. Even with the long line the work flow is efficient and it's not really a long wait. Staff is really nice Price: food here is definitely worth the price. I value quality and this place has it

I absolutely love coming here, they literally have the best raspados. The perfect combination between the vanilla and the condensed milk just calls for the greatest combo of all time. With every single sip or spoonful of it that you take it gets better it's truly a burst of flavors. It's a must get item! Of course we had to get the elote preparado en vaso and my goodness it's so good! Don't let the long lines fool you as they do work so fast and efficiently before you know it you'll be enjoying your goodies. If you're not a raspado or elote person don't worry they have plenty of items to choose from that I'm sure you'll be able to pick something. Great service overall!

Moving to San Jose, I definitely needed to find something that would satisfy my cultures cravings, and la original is just it! Personally, I think it's better than La Michoacana, which is located right down the block. I've been here many times since moving, and definitely always hits the spot! Today I decided on tostilocos, with no cueritos ( pickled pork rinds) and they gave me the option to add more fruit, which I did. I added mango, cucumber, and jicama! Very tasty, prices definitely went up but what didn't in this economy!

This is a great stop for Mexican desserts! The mangonada is amazing. It comes with a chamoy straw! It gets quite busy and there is usually a line to order, then a longer wait for the order to be prepared. There are tables with seating inside. After we ordered we sat at a table near the pickup counter to wait for our order. Would come back for the mangonada!

Always good ALWAYS fresh! Be prepared for a crazy parking situation I seen people double park and it was a nightmare getting out! I love love loveeee these mangonadas I spent the summer making frequent stops for one they are incredibly refreshing and they even make a strawberry version! The fruit was sweet and fresh!! I always have to order a agua Fresca the cucumber drink is another refreshing drink you absolutely won't regret picking up both. Try and bring cash and a lot of patience with parking and the wait inside all well worth it!

I love coming to this family owned place for my Mexican snacks! I switch what up what I usually get! But I found out they have the chicharron preparado (on their menu it's called Duro Preparado, which is the big chicharron with pickled pig skin, cabbage, onions, tomatoes, cheese & Valentina sauce, 10/10! I also got to try their Horchata and it was so good 10/10! Their parking is a bit small and hard to get in and out of but I got lucky to find a spot. Otherwise you have to find street parking. The staff were so sweet and kind! I was unsure what drink I wanted and she kindly offered me a few drinks to try. They were all good but the horchata was my favorite! I've also had the Tostilocos, esquites, & the mangonada from here which are all yummy! Can't wait to come back for my next craving and try different things from their menu!

Friendly staff my ice cream was delicious and the price was reasonable. There was about 10 of us and we all enjoyed our raspados and ice cream! It was busy but we didn't wait long they have a lot of workers.
